The 3 T's of Soldering (Theory, Tips and Tricks)

Soldering has a few basic rules, but you need to know them well. After that, it's all heat control. I will be providing you with a few different types of solder to play with along with a few different samples to produce, to help you practice this very important skill. A handout will be provided for your future reference.

Spinner Ring

In this class, you will be making a sterling silver band ring with a bronze or copper spinner to take home. We will be making this ring in a different way than we usually do, by soldering outside rings to capture the spinner in place.

Open Back Pendant (*New Longer Time*)

Materials included, with new longer time! This is an alternative type of bezel setting that can be used for a cabochon stone. This kind of setting will be ideal for larger stones or any that you do not want to cover the back with silver. This setting allows you to see more of your stone than a traditional bezel setting. You will be challenged but excited at the possibilities! Please bring your own cabochon to set (There will be options available as well for purchase.)

Sand Casting
Sunday, January 25th, 12pm-4pm

This is a class to give you a little taste of casting. This is definitely one of the easier methods to set up in a home studio situation, but certainly still needs ventilation. We will be using the club's oxygen concentrator to melt our metal for casting. You will be challenged but excited at the possibilities! Members are encouraged to bring in their scrap silver to use for doing this casting, or there will also be kits available for purchase. (The kit is an ounce of scrap silver to use for your casting.)

**Stay for both classes and save on class fees, $150 for both!)**

Water Casting **New Class!**

This is a class to give you a different taste of casting. This is definitely one of the easier methods to set up in a home studio situation, but certainly still needs ventilation. We will be using the club's oxygen concentrator to melt our metal for casting. This will spark your creativity with new possibilities! There will also be a smaller version shared that can easily be done on your own. Members are encouraged to bring in their scrap silver to use for doing this casting, or there will also be kits available for purchase. (Kit is an ounce of scrap silver to use for your casting.)

Spinner Stone Pendant **New Class!**

In this class, you will be making a captured spinning sphere pendant! I will have spheres for you to pick from that we will make into a spinning fun pendant that you will not want to let go of... I will have stainless steel chains available so you can use it right away!
