The Calgary Rock and Lapidary Club is a volunteer run, non-profit society.  That means everything we do is done by volunteers just like you.  We hope that all of our club members can contribute by volunteering as much as they are able.

Whether you have a few minutes, or a few hours, there are lots of things that you can do to help.

CRLC Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show: this happens every May and is our main fundraiser.  Its success is critical to the club operation.  We have a separate page describing all of the show volunteer activities.

But there are a lot of other activities that volunteers can do the rest of the year:
  • Workshop support: equipment maintenance, donations, inventory, cleaning.
  • Club operation: membership, social, meeting organization, bookkeeping.
  • Computer work: social media, website, email.
  • Student support: pebble pup activities, presenting to Calgary schools.
  • Knowledge: present at a meeting, teach a class (paid), steward a drop in (Studio fee is reimbursed).
  • Policy: got an opinion? Join the CRLC board or the Show Committee.
  • Pick your own: got an idea?  Run a photo contest? Crystal night?  Your choice.
Interested?  Talk to a fellow volunteer, a board member, or contact us.
